This is considered the best of Chengdu's parks. Included in the park is the Martyrs’ Monument which commemorates the 1911 rail dispute that would eventually lead to the demise of the Qing dynasty (The final dynasty to rule China).

This park is famous for it year round floral displays, points, terraces, and a hall where weekend shadow puppet shows are held. The park is also home to a tea house, amusement park, and a lake that offers boating.

This park is located on the Chengdu Metro and has its own stop. Many busses also stop at the park. People's Park is also within a 30 minute walk from Tianfu Square, an underground shopping mall in the center of Chengdu.
