Take a step into history at the Union County Heritage Museum. From their monthly luncheon series to programs designed specifically for children, the Museum has much to offer to residents of Union County and visitors alike. Located in the historic district of New Albany, MS, the museum is truly a hidden gem.

In an expansion phase, the museum is currently adding more exhibit space. The permanent exhibit features a quick history of Union County from the pre-historic age to now. Other exhibits include a big game display, an up and coming music and arts exhibit and an up and coming transportation exhibit featuring the first Toyota Corolla to come off the Union County assembly line. The Museum now boasts the William Faulkner library, as New Albany is the birthplace of the acclaimed author.

The Museum not only features exhibits inside but a recreation of a pioneer town on the outside. The outside exhibit springs to life every year for a Pioneer Days, an interactive experience for children and adults. Activities of Pioneer Days  include Mule Pulled Hay Baling, Soap Making, Boiled Peanuts, Sassafras Tea, Quilting, Leather Working, Fur Trapping, Dulcimer Playing and Pioneer Days Music, Butter Churning, Spinning Thread, Dyeing with Natural Dyes and more.
